Arch Window Treatments

There’s nothing more dramatic than those half moon windows, but when it comes to finding arch window treatments, you might be in for a challenge.  There’s really no curtains or valances for these types of windows so you have two options 1; just put the curtains on the flat part of the window below the arch or 2; put the curtain above the arch.

Now if you go with option 2, you’d actually be covering up the beauty of the arch because that curtain would fall in a square and if you had a valance you might hide the arch all together.

Assuming you don’t want that (and who would?) you’ll probably want to go with just blinds or a curtain with the valance situated right at the bottom of the arch where the top of the regular window is.  You want the curtains to open wide so most of the window is exposed.

Even so, you still need arch window treatments to keep the sun from blaring in and for that, the best thing is an arched window shade that opens up kind of like a fan and shades the window from the sun.  These paper window shades get a 4 ½ out of 5 rating by consumers and they help to block light as well as ensure privacy.  They are super easy to install and inexpensive too!
